How do I print this ruler at 100% true physical scale?

When your browser print dialog appears (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P), look for "Scale" or "Page Scaling" in the print settings. Select "100%" or "Actual Size". DO NOT select "Fit to Printable Area" or "Fit to Page", as that will shrink the ruler by 3% to 7%.

How can I verify that my printer did not scale the printout?

Every printable template includes a 1-inch × 1-inch and 2.5-centimeter verification test square. After printing, place a standard US quarter (0.955 inches) or measure the box with any known item. If the box measures exactly 1 inch or 2.5 cm, your paper ruler is 100% accurate.

What paper size should I select for printing?

Our template is formatted to fit on both standard international A4 paper (210 × 297 mm) and North American US Letter paper (8.5 × 11.0 inches / 216 × 279 mm). Standard 30 cm and 12-inch strips fit comfortably on both formats.
