About Real Size Ruler

The story behind our mission to bring verified 1:1 real-world scale and physical drafting tools to any computer, tablet, or phone screen.

Calibration Engine v1.0SI Metric & Imperial Compliant

Our Mission: Physical Scale on Digital Glass

Whether you are a jewelry designer sizing a ring, an engineer inspecting a component, a craftsperson checking a fastener, or a student drafting geometry, you often need an immediate ruler. Until now, on-screen rulers have suffered from severe inaccuracy because digital displays do not share standard physical dimensions.

Why Traditional Screen Rulers Fail

Most digital rulers assume standard desktop monitors have exactly 96 CSS pixels per inch (DPI). However, modern hardware varies dramatically—from 141 PPI on laptops to over 460 PPI on modern smartphones and 220+ PPI on Retina displays. An uncalibrated ruler on a 141 PPI laptop will be 32% too small. Real Size Ruler eliminates this discrepancy entirely.

The 3-Tier Calibration Engine

We engineered a proprietary multi-tier calibration system that guarantees 100% true physical scale:

Tier 1

Hardware Profile Auto-Detection

Cross-references your reported screen geometry and device pixel ratio (DPR) against verified hardware manufacturer specifications.

Tier 2

Geometric Diagonal Precision

Uses Pythagorean diagonal resolution PPI = √(w² + h²) / diagonal to calculate exact physical pixel pitch from your known screen size.

Tier 3

Standard Credit Card Silhouette

Aligns with the universal ISO/IEC 7810 ID-1 standard dimensions (85.60 × 53.98 mm) shared by all bank and ID cards worldwide.

Physical Trust Verification

We believe digital tools should earn your trust. Before locking calibration, our visual verification stage displays exact silhouettes of physical coins (US Quarter, Euro, UK Pound, Indian Rupee, etc.) or credit cards so you can test alignment with zero doubt.
